Praying For The Spiritually Disconnected

Pastor Robert A. Blake

The implementation of Any evangelistic thrust is made successful because of prayer. Before the prayer OF salvation can ever be administered, there must be YOUR prayer OF SALVATION then you can lead someone to the prayer FOR salvation; praying for the lost. This is a lesson on how to pray for the Spiritually Disconnected.

Jesus instructed His disciples to go into all the world and to be His witnesses, teaching them as He taught, doing as He did. As followers of the Lord Jesus Christ we adhere to those same instructions. All too often this command of Christ is used to reach, teach, and keep persons who are in other countries or in locations such as prison, jails, and the like more than meeting persons who are closer to our houses of worship, our communities, our businesses, our educational institutions, and yes, even our families. The reality for carrying out those instructions often times hits close to home. If we were to seriously pause to reflect, we would discover that we know quite a number of people who are in need of the salvific work – the message and the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We must never forget that prayer breaks down barriers, spiritual barriers or what the Bible calls STRONGHOLDS, (Fortresses) that are established in a person’s life. The fact is it might take time – It is a journey.

II Corinthians states “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,” II Corinthians 10:3-4 NKJV

Inasmuch as you are engaging in a battle for the life of another person or persons, how you pray is so important. First, make sure that you have prayed for yourself, insuring that all possible openings to spiritual attack are blocked. Therefore, make your confession, ask God’s

forgiveness, and then receive the assurance of His pardon with praise and thanksgiving. Next, continue to pray fervently in faith believing it is God’s will and God’s will shall be done: The life of those whose names you call before God depends upon it! Stop praying by chance! Pray in FAITH! Use GODS WORD! Be SPECIFIC! Believe what Gods word SAYS!

In order to help in our endeavor of praying for those who do not have an intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, I offer the following examples that you can incorporate into your personal prayer life and/ or time of individual and/or corporate prayer.

What is critical to remember AND SO IMPORTANT is to PRAY GODS WORD BACK TO HIM!

Father I come in the name of Jesus, Jesus said if we ask anything in His name he would do it. ( John 14: 13, 14.) Jesus also said, “Whatever you ask the Father in my name He may give you.” (John 15:16, John 16:23).

Father it is written that You so loved the world that you gave your only begotten son that whoever believes in Him should not parish, but have everlasting life.
You did not send Your Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
John 3:16,17

Father I pray in the name of Jesus, you would save alive ( insert name)
Because it is written:

“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. You did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to

repentance.” Luke 5:31-32 NKJV

Father It is written:
“For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them. ”
Luke 9:56 NKJV

It is also written:
“for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.””
Luke 19:10 NKJV

Remember it is important to remind God of His word!
“Put Me in remembrance; let us plead together; state your cause, that you may be justified.”
Isaiah 43:26 MEV

Here is another example:
Father I come in the name of Jesus praying that ( insert name(s) would be saved. Please save them alive, your word says in II Peter 3:9
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Father it is also written in your word
That you desire all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
I Timothy 2:4 NKJV

If you will pray according to Gods word, If you will be specific, God will honor His word concerning those who are lost. Amen
